Four hundred, sixty days….and counting. That is how many days our North America Wind Services team has gone without a Recordable Incident. In Latin America, our team can boast of an equally remarkable achievement, having exceeded 425 days without a Recordable Incident.

It’s an amazing accomplishment during the best of times, but it is especially notable now as we face even greater distractions and safety requirements because of the threat of COVID-19.

I believe this success comes from the rigorous attention we give to our four pillars of EHS – Leadership,Β Intervention, understanding theΒ Risk, andΒ LearningΒ from local and outside events. Our EHS and operations teams – from our techs at the site all the way through to our management teams in the office – are aligned in their safety-first approach. Leading by example, doing daily buddy checks, following procedures and engaging in morning safety meetings are all part of the teams’ success. We have a detailed Response Plan and Field Procedures to help protect against the newest risk facing our teams – COVID-19.

In every segment at FieldCore, we regularly stress to our employees that every single individual is a safety leader and that we are all responsible for ensuring safe outcomes. We have an exceptional and committed group of EHS professionals who help us build this mindset into the foundation of our safety culture.

During 2020, we intend to continue focusing on safety at all our sites, with special attention to:

  • Open Reporting Policy: Everybody is empowered to invoke and use their Stop Work authority as well as report any unsafe condition or act that puts anyone’s health or safety at risk.
  • Leading indicators: Reporting all Safety Concerns and conducting more Hazard Hunts. Spot the hazard before it becomes a risk and hurts you.
  • Motor Vehicle Safety:Β Getting familiar with the road, journey management, fatigue management.

Congratulations to the teams for this great accomplishment. I’m thankful for the work all of our employees do on the front lines every day to help keep the power running so that the rest of us can all live a little more safely and comfortably. I’m looking forward to more great things to come from our entire global Renewables team.
