What does a Field Engineer do?
Field Engineers oversee complex maintenance work at power plants. Their work usually involves inspection, maintenance, upgrades or installation of turbines and other equipment. They lead a team on site, working with customers and overseeing the project’s status etc.
What does a Mechanic do?
Mechanics conduct actual upgrades and maintenance of turbines, like heavy duty gas turbines, aero units (GE jet engines on the ground used to generate electricity), steam turbines, and associated equipment, including generators and other balance of plant items. They handle on-site diagnostics, repairs, upgrades and servicing of the parts and equipment.
What is an Outage Season?
Outage Season is the time of year when our customers can shut down their power plants to allow us to do large scale maintenance and upgrades on their equipment. Due to this, the majority of our work in North America and Europe is completed during the fall and spring. This seasonality allows many of our field employees flexibility in their schedules during the summer and winter. Many of our field employees enjoy their favorite hobbies, pursue other interests or spend lots of time with their friends and families during these months.
What Segments of the Power Industry does FieldCore work on in North America?
The majority of our work in North America is on Heavy Duty (HD) Gas Turbines but we also work on Steam turbines, Wind turbines, Hydro, and Aero units.
